推广的艺术——With Big Numbers

付费的时代已经过去,我们出售的是“click”——点击手中的鼠标。Kawasaki针对创业者的Distribution提出了自己的见解。

首先是重新定义“推广”:借助商业巨头帮助潜力无限的公司。原文:

Getting companies with a lot to lose to help companies with a lot to gain。

其中还看到几个新鲜的东西,金山词霸05并不认识“virality”,但这词在当前的营销世界里却炙手可热,翻译过来应该是“病毒式推广”,原文如此解释:

Viral means that a product is so compelling that people are involuntary users of it. For example, if someone sent you a PDF, for a time you had no choice but to install Acrobat.

但我更感觉这有点流氓软件的味道,就好像微软,牛B到你不得不被他强奸。推广则与此不同:

Distribution, by contrast involves companies making your product available to potential users.

而且Kawasaki还认为,顺应规则——与巨头为伴是上佳的选择,因为a small percentage of a big number is a big number。举例来说,有人认为找Myspace做为渠道伙伴不是高招,但这个观点犯了两个错误:you don’t know who will use your product and what they’ll do with it. As Chairman Mao said, “Let a hundred flowers blossom.”(这里强调的是以用户为本的理念——用户很聪明,从而抛弃了传统营销观念中精确定位的理念,或者说是以营销者为中心的推广方式吧?)

此外,在产业链上寻找合作伙伴,强调共赢也是要点。其实还是说白了,创业时需要的是强大的推广渠道,找到Mr.key,Skype最初的推广就是通过Kazaa(P2P下载网络),不过,前提的是You are the one with a lot to gain~~

    金山词霸不认识,google 在线翻译认识,它的解释是“滤过性毒菌”

    金山词霸认识的是这个词 Viral,google也一样,我查过好几个国外在线英译英的网站都不认识……汗。
